“By mixing & crushing the existing bituminous layers with excavated sub-base and gaining approval to use a Type 2 sub-base we have saved £12600 on disposal (750m3) and £12750 by avoiding the need to buy in some 1500 tonnes of sub-base”.
Mark Popham, Project Manager, Lewis Civil Engineering.

“…the crusher did approximately 90t per day for 4.5 days, the client crushed it down to 40mm and was recyling it on the base for the building and and using the rest for hardcore on a new road. The cost saving for hardcore was £3,600.00, 400t at £8 per ton, the cost of taking it away would have been substantial (circa £3000). The cost of crusher hire for 5 days was £1500 – a £5,100.00 saving for the customer. “
Mr Tony Robinson – SPS Ltd – Preston.

Landfill Tax
Every year since April 2001 landfill tax has risen at a rate of £3.00 per ton - currently £21.00 per ton. This will continue on an annual basis - £3 per ton in April 2007 to £24.00 per ton. As a result landfill operators need to recover the extra cost brought about by this Landfill Directive, which makes the disposal of waste uneconomical. It is a financial necessity to segregate waste at source and recycle – Red Rhino offers the solution for the conversion of rubble and muck-away/construction waste into a required aggregate; generating significant cost reduction savings in the process.

Aggregate Levy
The extraction of aggregates from the environment (sand, gravel and crushed rock) represents 82% by tonnage of all non-fossil fuel minerals extracted from the land and sea in the UK. The extraction, transport and eventual disposal of these aggregates have significant implications for the environment.

Aggregate demand
By 2012, if UK demand increases by an expected 1% per annum, 20 million tonnes of extra aggregates will be needed each year. – this will inevitably mean a rise in purchase costs. The only solution to this demand is to stop paying to send valuable rubble to landfill and to profit by crushing it with a Red Rhino 5000 series crusher into recycled aggregates.

Why are you ignoring the cost reduction profit that a
